We have government backed funding available for non-repayable internal wall insulation grants, subject to a free survey.
If your property builds in before 1920 it can be a solid wall property rather than cavity wall property. as solid wall property has one wall layer and cavity wall has two walls with gap in middle. by insulating solid wall, you can save more on your energy bill when comparing to cavity wall. solid wall can be insulating internally or externally.
Internal wall insulation is a great option in solid wall properties where external insulation is not practical or permissible, internally by adding an insulated lining to the inside of an external wall. We recommend that any damp issues be dealt with before insulation is installed.
Internal wall insulation generally cheaper than external wall insulation and it can be done room by room.
There are a few methods to insulate a solid wall internally often referred as dry lining, involves insulating the inside of the wall by one of two methods with different materials.
Ready made insulation boards are fixed directly to the wall and the boards consist of plasterboard backed with up to 50mm insulation materials.
Frame-work of wooden battens is attached to the wall and the space between the battens filled with insulation materials
Frame work of metal attached to the wall and insulation boards attached to the metal frame.
Lower installation cost when comparing to external wall insulation.
Easier maintenance than external wall insulation
No scaffolding required for installation
No disruption to building appearance – ideal for installation in conservation areas
Installation not delayed by bad weather condition
Can be installed on a room-by-room, single façade or whole-house basis – or as part of a full refurbishment plan
Estimates based on insulating a gas-heated home. Costs may vary significantly depending on level of work required. Above estimates are based on a typical install, ranging between a small flat and a large detached home*energy savingtrust. http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/home-insulation/solid-wall
We only installing British Gypsum IWI systems. British Gypsum have the most extensive range of internal wall insulation systems in the UK, enabling you to find the perfect solution for a range of solid wall insulation projects. Each of our four internal wall insulation systems listed below are Energy Saving Trust (EST) and BBA approved in addition to being protected by a 25-year guarantee whenever the installation is provided by a Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA) registered installer*.
DriLyner RF is a lining system suitable for all types of home that is both economical and highly energy efficient for the homeowner. DriLyner RF can be fixed directly to internally plastered brickwork or smooth concrete walls, making it quick and easy for trained installers to implement to solid wall homes*.
The DriLyner TL internal lining system provides not only provides homeowners with a thermally responsive environment but is also beneficial to installers as it can be bonded to bare masonry, allowing for minor surface irregularities to be taken out within the drylining cavity*.
GypLyner IWL is the most suitable wall lining system for older and commercial buildings, as it doesn’t require fixing to the existing external wall; instead being built independently with studs positioned into fixed tracks on the ceiling and floor. In doing so, GypLyner IWL internal solid wall insulation can hide poor condition walls and structures, and straighten rooms to optimise usability for the property owner*.
GypLyner Universal is a virtually independent metal frame drylining system that is suitable for all internal non-loadbearing applications. It allows insulation to be attached slightly away from the wall, which creates a usable service void behind the lining. The size of the service void can be altered to create the optimum balance between maximising floor space and concealing cabling and other services, making it a popular choice for installers conducting internal wall insulation works*.

Few ways to do internal wall insulation and also there are few types of insulation can be install depend on surface, stranded of wall and available budget.
Generally, Internal wall insulation is cheaper than external wall insulation so approximately our cost is between £60.00 and £70.00/m2 however the cost will vary with the type of insulation being used and the type of the existing wall however you need to consider cost of re-decorating. so, by visiting one of our assessor will let you know more details.
Environment will be noisy and dusty and also skip may be required
Rooms where the work is being done may not be usable whilst the work is being carried out and furniture, kitchen units etc may need to be removed and also Insulation work can be carrying out room by room to minimize the disruption but the environment will be noisy and dusty
Fittings such as radiators, skirting boards, window sills and plug sockets that are on the wall that is being insulated will need to be removed and reattached
Pipe work and wiring may need to be re-laid
Internally insulating will reduce the size of the room.
It can make more difficult to hang heavy items as an example such as large shelving units to inside walls but there are special fixings are available
Fitters may require water and power, and the use of a toilet
The newly insulated walls and adjacent surfaces will need to be re-decorated once the work has finished and it is customers responsibility.
Approximately, one full day need for in an average size room but it will depend on other factors what we need to do such as wall light fittings, radiators, pipework, skirting boards, doorframes, covers will be removed first.
It should be treated before the insulation
